CarrierKYC vs FactorGenie: load audit vs payee verification

FactorGenie is the product closest to our buyer: it calls itself "AI for freight factors" and is built for factoring companies. Most of what it does sits on the load and the invoice: auditing rate confirmations and BOLs, verifying loads with debtors, collections and broker credit.

CarrierKYC works one step earlier and one step later. Before you fund a new client, it checks that the person applying controls the carrier and that the bank account belongs to the carrier. After that, it re-verifies every bank or remit-to change before the next ACH. For most factors the two are complements, not substitutes.

What FactorGenie does

By FactorGenie's own description, its free plan covers a lot of a small factor's back office: automated collections and cash application, AI collection agents, FactorGenie Credit broker reports, a white-label carrier app, a branded portal, a client and debtor CRM, and a portfolio risk dashboard, all free up to 2,500 loads a month with no seat fees.

The paid Audit & Verification plan, priced per load, adds AI load auditing, automated verification with the debtor, an "advanced fraud detection engine", Rate Con and BOL matching, BOL and POD exception flags, client risk scoring and automated NOA delivery. FactorGenie says it integrates with FactorSoft, FactorCloud and FactorView, and it joined the IFA's Preferred Ally program in April 2025.

Different questions: is the load real, or is the payee real?

FactorGenie's fraud tools, as published, aim to catch bad loads and bad paperwork. Its home and pricing pages don't mention verifying the identity of the person onboarding or the ownership of the bank account. Those are the two facts that matter when a real carrier's email is taken over and someone asks you to send the money somewhere new.

A perfectly audited load can still be paid to the wrong account. That gap is what Verified Payee covers, and it's why we see the two as layers. Our guide to verifying remit-to changes explains the attack in detail.

Where TriumphPay fits

Triumph's NOA Management (formerly TriumphPay) checks the factor of record against the carrier's paperwork on loads paid through its network, and verifies NOA release requests. Triumph puts it simply: "If it doesn't match, we don't pay." That protects your receivable at the broker end. It doesn't check who owns the account you pay your client, so it complements both FactorGenie and CarrierKYC.

Running them side by side

There is no integration between CarrierKYC and FactorGenie today. In practice, Verified Payee runs when you onboard a client and whenever their payee details change, and its case file sits next to your factoring software. FactorGenie runs on every load. CarrierKYC's founding pricing is a free 60-day pilot, then $399 a month with 20 verified onboardings included, $25 for each extra onboarding, and payee-change re-verifications included. See pricing.

Frequently asked questions

Is FactorGenie really free?

FactorGenie says its core platform is free for every factor up to 2,500 loads a month, with no trial period and no seat fees. Its Audit & Verification plan is priced per load, by quote, and AI phone agents start at $0.08 a minute.

Does FactorGenie verify carrier identity or bank accounts?

Its home and pricing pages, checked on 2026-10-19, don't mention identity verification of the person onboarding or bank-account ownership checks. Ask FactorGenie directly if you need either.

Can I use CarrierKYC and FactorGenie together?

Yes. They cover different steps: FactorGenie works on each load, and CarrierKYC works at onboarding and on every payee change. There is no integration between them today.

Does either product detect double factoring?

CarrierKYC does not. FactorGenie doesn't publish a cross-factor duplicate-invoice registry. Our double factoring guide covers the checks that help today: a UCC search, NOA discipline and debtor verification.
